Mersinli Wind Power Plant
The Mersinli Wind Power Plant Project consists of 13 wind turbines a unit capacity of 4.23 MWe with a total installed mechanical and electrical capacity of 55 MWe located in Kemalpaşa, Torbalı and Bayındır districts of İzmir province, in Turkey’s Aegean Region.
The main purpose of the project is to generate approximately 19,250 MWh/year of electricity to supply the national grid using a renewable resource and tapping the wind power plant potential in the region. The project activity reduces greenhouse gases (GHGs) emissions that would have otherwise occurred in the absence of the project activity by avoiding electricity generation from fossil fuel sources. The average annual emission reductions of the proposed Project are estimated to be 12,477 tonnes of CO₂e (tCO₂e).
Mersinli Wind Power Project has been located in Kemalpaşa, Torbalı and Bayındır districts of İzmir province in Turkey.
