GAIA CLIMATE

Gaia Climate is a climate finance and climate change management consulting company based in Istanbul, Turkey. Since 2008, we have served as a bridge between project developers and VER (Verified Emission Reduction) buyers, providing carbon finance opportunities to all parties in the complex landscape of the climate and sustainable energy sectors. As an innovator in the market, we developed the world’s first VCS 2007 (now known as VERRA) hydropower project. We also pioneered a methodology for energy-efficient refrigerators and developed the first project in the world for emission reduction asset development from energy-efficient household appliances. With over fifty projects in the pipeline, Gaia has built strong in-house expertise in emission trading, fulfilling various methodologies and standards such as Gold Standard and VERRA (VCS). We have successfully supported our clients in implementing technologies like biomass-biogas, landfill gas, and industrial efficiency.

In 2010, Gaia expanded its services to the Climate Governance and Carbon Emissions Management fields to provide risk management and resilience-building support for the private sector. Since then, we have worked with various industries to develop in-house emission management capabilities and provide GHG emission management and climate governance services to the manufacturing industry, financial institutions, and other organizations. Gaia has also developed numerous projects in GHG inventory building and MRV and delivered strategic consultancy for corporate climate resilience and GHG emission risk management. Recently, we have been involved in climate change adaptation planning for large infrastructure projects, cities, and municipalities.

Our clients include companies from the energy, manufacturing, ICT, and banking sectors. We have a specific focus on banking, offering services in green banking, climate-centered environmental and social governance, and climate-related risk disclosure. We also provide support to public agencies and governments for long-term climate change policy planning.
